Rain - Jack Glibert

Suddenly this defeat.
This rain.
The blues gone gray
And the browns gone gray
And yellow
A terrible amber.
In the cold streets
Your warm body.
In whatever room
Your warm body.
Among all the people
Your absence
The people who are always
Not you.

I have been easy with trees
Too long.
Too familiar with mountains.
Joy has been a habit.
Now
Suddenly
This rain.

When I first read this poem I instantly fell in love with its syllables in each stanza, more specifically the last 3 stanzas.

Now
Suddenly
This rain.

Inflicts this strange feeling of a terrible turning point, but the poem ends there, creating a mist of mystery that makes the reader so curious to see what happens.
This poem also describes the sadness part of the poem. However, it utilizes a strange pattern of negative -> positive -> negative. It first talks about the negative parts about rain, and how it's ruining the beauty of the landscape. Then it goes into detail with what was once there before. Then finally, it takes the last three stanzas to clearly show the turning point of the journey Jack Gilbert took in his head.
